Postcards : Colombia
I spent the last 10 days in our motherland, Colombia, a country that was once famously known for its troubled past but recently has become popular amongst many travelers. I've always loved going since most our family still live there but it had been about 6 years since I returned but I can promise you, it won't be that long to go back.
It was a very short trip, so my days were booked, mainly spent in Cali since that is where our family is from but I squeezed in a few nearby towns that took my breath away.
Our first stop was El Valle del Cocora, Salento, as small town in Quindio about 3 hours away from Cali.
After 2 days in Quindio, we made our way back to Cali. Got up an early morning to hike El Cerro de las Tres Cruces, which tends to be a weekend ritual for the locals.
Across Las Tres Cruces, there is a another mountain with a statute known as Cristo Rey. This statue was inaugurated in celebration of the fifty years following the end of the War of a Thousand Days.
